is their alot of auditions for an actor going to acting shcool in new york?
Im going to acting shcool in new york in september, but i was thinking, i want to do film/tv kinda stuff, and was wondering if i have to eventually move to los angleles or would have alot of audition oportunies in NY? should i train there first then goto LA?does any casting get done for movies in NY

There are many casting opportunities in New York. However, many good training programs for actors are so demanding, so time consuming, that students aren’t able to start attending auditions until after they’ve graduated. Once you’ve finished school, you can check out the New York audition scene and weigh the pros and cons of moving to the West Coast.

I think there is alot of opportunities. Maybe not as many as Los Angeles but there is alot. 2 years ago I had an agent in Los Angeles and there was many many many auditions. But, it was very hard to fly out there all the time because I live in PA. So now I signed with a manger in NY and we asked her the same question and she said there is not as many as Los Angeles but there is still opportunities. So far I have only been signed with her for about a month and she already got me 1 audition (:
